imagine a solution. engage your community. Make it happen.

It is going to be a great program where we get young people thinking about social entrepreneurship and the many creative ways to solve local, national and international challenges through technology and design.

Canopy City is proud to collaborate with the City of Somerville and its FabLab at Somerville High School in the creation and implementation of a youth entrepreneurship program in its space. The BuildCorps Incubator will lead into an internship program for students at local hardware startups called the BuildCorps Fellows. This interconnected yearround program will act as an extension of the school day and a catalyst for students’ learning to develop into creative, personally meaningful and potentially profitable breakthroughs.

The guidance provided by instructors, mentors, skilled technologists and Canopy cofounders means that a student with an idea does not require any specific skills, experience or qualification to begin; instead, we will build upon the rich body of knowledge that students bring from their lives, cultures and the Somerville community.
